Support Workers Required
Part Time for a variety of contracted hours
Bracknell, Berkshire

Support Workers are required to support our client, a seven year old boy who lives in his family home in Bracknell in Berkshire. He loves physical activity and is a keen player of football. He has cerebral palsy affecting his ability to communicate and to manage some tasks. He requires one to one support, which will involve providing assistance to develop his personal care skills, in his own home as well as in the community.

The Support Worker will be expected to help develop our client’s skills and independence (particularly in relation to his communication) and help him to access lots of physical activities, therapeutic play and creative activities.

Term Time Support Worker
This post is required for school runs and/or after school and the Support Worker will be expected to transport our client to and/or from school in their own vehicle.
Hours: 1 hour in the morning and/or 1 hour in the afternoon. Additional after school hours available.
Remuneration: £17.00 per hour (dependent on experience) for school runs or annual salary of £6,630 for supporting both runs every school day (10 hours per week).
£14.00 per hour (dependent on experience) for additional after school hours, 1 – 5 days a week

Weekend Support Worker
Hours: Saturday and/or Sunday, 5 hours per day
Remuneration: £15.00 per hour, Weekends, dependent on experience

School Holiday Support Worker
Hours: Monday – Friday, 5 hours per day
Remuneration: £14.00 per hour, Monday – Friday, dependent on experience

One candidate can work more than one of the above roles if they are able to.

Support Worker Attributes:
- *Physically fit to participate in active games and exercises with our client.
- A full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) and willing to drive the client in your own vehicle or willing to work towards this.
- Have the aptitude and desire to work with children with special needs.
- Keen to see the client develop and have a willingness to carry through therapeutic activities based on play on a daily basis. (Training will be given as required.)
- Good communication skills, initiative and a calm and kind approach are all required.
- Being able to be proactive, enthusiastic and having a good sense of humour are all important.
- Happy to learn new things – methods of communication etc. (Training will be given as appropriate)

5.6 weeks annual leave, free DBS check and on-going training and support.

This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS. A conviction will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.

Satisfactory references and proof of eligibility to work in the UK will also be required.
