An established company with a history of providing high quality care to people with learning disabilities and associated health care needs, in residential settings.

Providing physical, social and emotional care
- Assist in carrying out individual programmes of care, including the management of complex/challenging behaviour, under the supervision of the manager and support from colleagues
- Assist with individual care needs, including personal and intimate care, personal hygiene
- Assist in providing constructive activities considering the particular needs of the person
- Provide support and opportunities for the service user to develop contact with people outside the service
- Provide support to maximise the service user’s independence
- Ensure the maintenance of high standards of nutrition, health, safety, cleanliness and personal hygiene by helping and supporting service users with tasks as required, carrying out domestic tasks
- Dispense and record medication
- Work in a way that treats everyone equally and fairly, whilst promoting service user’s rights and dignity at all times
- Assist service users to plan holidays and support
- Support service users in conjunction with the local authority safeguarding policy
- Support service users in positive risk taking

Assisting in the delivery of treatment, training and educational procedures and activities
- Attend all mandatory training in accordance with Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and training relevant to service user care
- Carrying out approved psychological programmes
- Record and chart relevant service user information

Participating in meetings and administrative tasks
- Attending staff meetings where appropriate
- Ensuring confidential information is secure
- Attending staff training and development
- Preparing written reports on service user’s progress or behaviour
- Attending case reviews
- Being an active participant in the staff team, and liaising with parents, social workers and other professionals
- Implementing/acting upon instructions and requests made by the manager and educational and clinical staff
- Reporting to the line manager any matters of concern or interest relating to staffing, service users, parents, contacts with professionals and members of the public
- Purchasing housekeeping items, personal items

Requirements:
- Awareness of fire precautions
- Familiar with the health & safety act and all relevant legislation
- Completion of induction and foundation standards
- Clear DBS check
Position would suit self-motivated, committed team player, with a genuine interest in the area of care
Experience is not necessary, as full training is provided.

Benefits:
- Bank Holidays are paid @ time and half
- Weekend Allowance (working on Sunday) is paid @ an additional £1.19 per hour
- Shift Leading enhancement is paid @ an additional £1.19 per hour

40 hours per week
Shifts (including occasional night shifts) on a rota basis. E 8am - 2:30pm, L 2:15pm - 10pm or M 8am - 8:30pm
