This day centre for adults with disabilities is looking for someone who can provide day to day support to their members, who are a fun loving group with a wide range of ages, disabilities and personalities.
Flexibility is essential in this role as each day can be very different, with different members and levels of support required. You will need to be very motivated and pass this motivation on to their groups of members, providing a fun and stimulating set of activities, as well as planning the logistics of day trips out at least once per week.
Essential Skills:
- Driving License with D1 classification
- Willingness to provide personal care to a range of service users
- Flexible approach to work, requiring occasional weekend and bank holiday working
- A positive attitude and pro-active approach to work
- Excellent motivation
As a Support Worker - Driver you will be responsible for:
- Supporting small groups of their service users with their care needs
- Creating and delivering a programme of activities to engage service users
- Planning trips out and driving to local attractions around the St Helens area and further afield
- Performing vehicle checks and carrying out basic maintenance tasks on the minibus
