Our client requires a support worker and 2 x Female Special Needs Nanny to assist with their autistic children at their home in Westcliff on Sea.

Pay: £11 per hr Mon – Fri / £12 per hr Sat & Sun

Support Worker:
Term Time - Wed & Fri (at school start & finish) – 6 hrs each day.
School Holidays - Wed & Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

*Female Special Needs Nanny – Role 1
Term Time - Mon, Tues & Wed (at school start and finish) – 6 hours each day. Plus Sat & Sun – 3 hrs each day.
School Holidays - Mon, Tues & Wed – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Plus Sat & Sun – 3 hrs each day.

*Female Special Needs Nanny – Role 2
Term Time - Thurs & Fri (at school start and finish) – 6 hrs each day.
School Holidays - Thurs & Fri – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

You will need a full UK driving license & use of own vehicle. You will be required to support our clients on annual holidays and whole day activities.

You will have experience working with children with autism and additional needs including ADHD, ASD, ODD and cerebral palsy. You must be confident to work in the client’s own home as well as in the community.

Both children are academically bright, however, they require guidance & assistance when interacting with others, benefiting from routine and consistent direction from their care givers. They find social situations difficult to manage & their thought processes are rigid, there is only ‘black and white’ with ‘no grey’ areas. There are 4 children in the home which can result in frequent incidents of difficulties & outbursts.

The children lead active lives with activities such as swimming & football, you will be expected to take part in activities in the home and the community. You will have good IT & numeracy skills & good spoken English.

You will be required to undertake domestic tasks relating to the client & children such as helping with dressing, planning activities, cleaning up following kitchen tasks etc & supporting siblings when required. You will work closely with the family/therapy teams & implement their daily therapeutic programmes.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Full UK driving license & use of own car.
- Ability to swim.
- Be able to support clients on their annual holidays, including holidays outside of the UK & whole day activities.
- Aptitude & desire to work with young people with complex needs
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality & privacy
- *Fit & well to carry out outdoor activities.
- Confident & prepared to listen & learn new things
- Patience, responsible, trustworthy, tolerant & good sense of humour
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative
- Excellent planning, communication & social skills
- Organised & an excellent time keeper

An enhanced DBS is a pre-requisite for the post
