This company is currently looking for an outstanding Supply Chain / Production Planner with strong SAP skills based at their purpose built manufacturing warehouse in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Supply Chain team within a dynamic business. Reporting to Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, the role encompasses all areas of customer demand planning and finite factory planning, in the manufacture of the Company’s extensive ranges of nutraceutical and food supplement products, to meet required dates according to sales forecasts, finished stock holding targets or customer service levels.

- Using customer forecasts & orders, sales forecasts and finished stock data you will use SAP MRP to create and manage the short-term production plan, whilst providing the business with the long-term capacity statements, by analysing production specifications and plant capacity data and performing mathematical calculations to determine, production processes, materials requirements and human resource requirements.

- You will work in conjunction with UK Sales team and Global Brand team, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality and Purchasing to schedule and plan in the most cost effective way, reviewing production planning practices, manufacturing processes, previously established manufacturing sequences and product specifications to maximise overall operational efficiency and minimise waste.

- To ensure a production plan is produced and achieved in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. This will be communicated across the functional areas of the business, whilst highlighting any capacity or customer service concerns.

- Being the key communication link on all planning matters you will build key relationships with the customer, third party Logistics providers, material suppliers and manufacturing sub-contractors and be responsible for the NPD launches and exit planning.

- In addition to the planning functions you will support the Supply Chain team in the management of finished goods inventories working to achieve both customer satisfaction and business objectives, aggressively managing inventory turns and product movement by date code.

Person specification:

- Have Proven experience of working as a Production Planner within a fast paced complex process manufacturing organisation
- Have a solid understanding of Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, New Product Introduction, Production Control, MRP
- SAP experience is essential, SAP Super-user for PP preferred and knowledge of MM and SD integration
- 5S, Lean manufacturing – desirable
- Previous experience in production planning, materials planning, new product introduction, production control, material variances
- Record of displaying initiative and innovative ideas
