This is an opportunity to join an award winning UK textile innovator, independently owned, specialising in the design & manufacture of contract upholstery fabrics for commercial interiors and mass passenger transport. The company is based in the UK’s West Yorkshire textile heartland, with additional manufacturing in Lithuania and Nottingham, from where it extends global reach into some 80 countries worldwide via established offices, warehousing and distribution channels in Europe, North America, China and Australia.

This company sells over 8 million metres of fabric a year for use in commercial offices, banks, government departments, universities, NHS, cinema, auditoria and transportation applications in buses, coaches, trains and underground.

They now have a great opportunity for a talented, ambitious Piece Dye Co-Ordinator to join the Supply Chain at their Meltham site.

Job Purpose:

To provide a support service for Customer Service’s & Sales Managers with respect to delivering the companies commitment for fabric dates to our customers. To act as an effective liaison between suppliers. Maintain service level targets, through taking a proactive approach at all times.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

- To order and prioritise work at external suppliers in accordance with demand and stock requirements, to ensure a high level of service delivery.
- Establish and build strong relationships with new & existing external processors, this will include site visits.
- Responsible for controlling the flow of products to and from suppliers and ensuring suppliers meet the required lead times.
- To supply realistic finished goods dates for all backordered fabrics & advise the sales team of these, therefore delivering customer requirements.
- To support the sales team’s requirements, look for opportunities to improve backorder dates, through streamlining of processes and application of efficient practices.

Knowledge and aptitudes required:

- High level numeracy skills.
- Experience of Microsoft Excel, ideally have an understanding of advanced applications.
- Knowledge of MRP systems and their principles would be advantageous.
- Ideally have knowledge & an understanding of textile piece dying processes.
- An understanding of IBM I series applications would be advantageous.
