We're sorry, you can no longer apply for this job.

Have you reached the stage of your career where you’d like to be more than “just” a great Structural Engineer? If so, then how about a unique opportunity to become an expert in the development of best practice guidance for structural engineers generally, and to also make a real difference to the UK construction industry?

That is what is on offer with their additional and new role, supporting their Members within a leading Industry Advisory body.

You will, of course, be using your skills to ensure we and Members are up to date with the latest technical information, which will include project managing external experts, and supporting policy updates. However, you will also develop and maintain your contacts within the construction industry supply chain – both to favourably influence the choice of products, and to respond to enquiries for specialist advice. Although you will be based in their London office they do have some flexibility for remote working and the role involves some UK travel in any event.

Representation of the sector is also central to the role – that may be in the form of technical presentations to audiences of construction industry professionals or helping to give courses both in person or via webinars. Likewise, it may be in the form of committee membership to represent the sector – nationally and internationally.

All this activity is with the overall objective of increasing the Members’ success in market competitiveness.

In turn, you will have and be:

- A Chartered or nearly Chartered Structural Engineer.
- Strong presentational and organisational skills, together with a fluent writing style.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and on own initiative, and with an excellent working knowledge of the UK construction sector.
- Any expertise in a particular field within the design or construction of concrete framed buildings would be a definite plus.

If you feel you would thrive in supporting their Members in this way with their work, they would love to hear from you.

Please note, this post could be based in London, but alternatively could suit remote based working.
