Are you a strategy manager/senior strategy analyst who has a passion for strategy formulation, planning and able to connect the dots around an organisation? This leading UK based professional body is seeking an experienced Strategy and Planning Manager to lead on strategy and planning across a range of business, functional, product and IT initiatives. This is a new post within the client’s Change team and offers the chance to raise the strategic acumen of planning and management activities across their organisation.

The ideal candidate should have a track record of being able to elicit, simplify and communicate complex strategy proposals and be capable of transitioning strategy into action. You should have expertise in all areas of strategy development, including project management, business analysis, and problem-solving.

You will need to be a great listener, confident, articulate and persuasive and someone who enjoys sharing and developing ideas within a team. This is a great opportunity to be the thought leader on strategic planning within the client’s organisation, with an additional opportunity to lead on the creation of innovation and benefits management functions from scratch.

You will need the following skills and experience: -
- A proven track record of working as a strategy manager ideally in a variety of organisations/sectors with a strong emphasis on being able to translate strategy requirements into action
- Strong experience of business case formulation
- A good knowledge of strategy formulation and planning methods and an ability to apply the right tool sets to a variety of strategy challenges
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills up to the C-suite
- A good knowledge of portfolio, programme, project management and business analysis
- Change management skills
- Ability to find a good balance between working collaboratively and leading
- Track record of implementing strategic initiatives in cross-functional and matrix environments
- Degree or relevant qualification with a large component of strategy development
- Structured, methodical thinking and approach to strategy development
- Comfortable splitting your time, energy and attention across several projects and stakeholders

Any of the following would be an advantage, but are not essential: -
- Familiarity with process improvement approaches
- Experience in both Prince 2 and Agile environments
- Experience setting up innovation and benefits management functions
- Programme management or Portfolio Management qualification(s)
