Job Summary:
Position: Stores Team Leader

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4.00pm, Friday 7.30am – 1.00pm. 37.5-hour working week. Opportunities for overtime.

Location: Nechells, Birmingham

Salary: £10.00 per hour – rising to £10.32 upon successful completion of 3 months’ probation

We are looking to grow our warehousing team with the addition of a Stores Team Leader who will play a pivotal role in ensuring parts are supplied to production lines on time, preventing lost time in production.

We are looking for someone who can quickly pick up and learn new IT systems (this is a bespoke system, so will likely be new to anyone who joins).

Role and Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact for Stores team members
- To process all goods inwards and outwards (electronically and physically)
- Updating MRP System
- Responding to emails
- Manage periodical stocktaking of materials
- Be able to support the Stores and Purchasing team with materials planning, control and any other project activities
- Monitor stock levels
- Packing orders, counting stock, stock taking
- Ensure quality information on stock control system
- Expedite all open orders with suppliers

General Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe working area to meet the requirements of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance with the accredited Integrated Management System
- Wear PPE as required in accordance with Risk Assessments and all written instructions
- Practice and maintain 5S disciplines in accordance with quality standards
- Ensure hazardous waste is disposed of in accordance with the company environmental policy
- Undertake any other reasonable management request in line with business needs

Essential:
- Clear communication skills
- Computer literate with experience of logistics and stock control systems from a a warehouse/depot environment
- Good numeracy, literacy, IT skills and attention to detail
- Be able to co-ordinate and organise logistics with key suppliers
- Team leading experience
- Flexibility and ability to work under own initiative

Desirable:
- Current counterbalance forklift licence
- Valid driving licence
- Experience in an engineering/manufacturing background would be an advantage
