Position: Loading Bay Assistant

Location: Walton-on-Thames, Surrey

Full-time post (37.5 hours) 5 days per week, including one Saturday per month.

This company is one of the largest soft furnishing retailers in the region, based in Surrey for over 30 years. This is a great place to work with a positive and enthusiastic team.

This role will involve the labelling of goods and parcels, loading & unloading of parcels and help to provide the safe, secure and timely handling of customers’ goods, to achieve an on time and quality service. This is a fast paced and physical manual handling role interacting with the clients on a daily basis mainly face to face, but also via phone and email.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be polite, confident and friendly, understand the needs of customers and be able to remain patient, calm and polite in difficult situations. They must show problem-solving skills, be flexible and quick thinking, be able to follow instructions, work well in a team and able to work on their own initiative.

The successful candidate will be supported by knowledgeable and well-motivated colleagues who give a highly professional service.

Previous Warehouse/ Parcel Sorting experience is preferable, though not essential. You must have the ability to work within a team and be customer focused. Tasks include, but are not limited, to the following:

- Answering enquiries or passing them on to the appropriate department/ staff member
- Sorting products and orders
- Dealing with queries
- Taking information and entering it into a database or appropriate software tools
- Tidying stock and displays
- Stock taking
- Order and task management and processing from start to finish
- Handling of incoming goods for stock and customer orders
- Pricing and labelling of goods for stock and customer orders

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Have a keen attention to detail and be organised and efficient
- Making sure that the customer's experience is a positive one
- Strong communication skills, verbally and written
- Show support for business values and demonstrate a high level of honesty and integrity
- Be able to work in a well-structured manner with strong organisational skills
- Ensure tasks are completed by set timescales, accurately and with an attention to detail
