The Role
Their Technology Delivery team is responsible for the implementation and 3rd line support of leading edge technologies within the company. They are looking for a Database Administrator with at least one years' experience who is looking to gain more knowledge within this field. You will provide support, guidance and administration on their Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of Technology Delivery (Europe), you will be responsible for performing regular housekeeping and maintenance procedures, ensuring backup and recovery procedures are defined and adhered to.

You will troubleshoot SQL Server outages as they occur, and take pro-active measures to reduce the likelihood of re-occurrence. The role will include the monitoring of system availability and capacity as well as maintaining user access administration and auditing, enforcing least privileges methodology to SQL servers and databases.

Working within a small team, you will install, configure and manage Clustered SQL Servers including the management and deployment of Microsoft patches and updates. You will need to have strong analytical and trouble shooting skills with the ability to resolve complex problems.

- Highly organised
- Technical experience and knowledge of: Microsoft SQL Server 2008-2016 (2017), Oracle MySQL (Community, Standard and Enterprise), Analysis Services, Reporting Services and SQL Server Integration Services, MS SQL clustering using Windows Server 2008, Server 2012, or 2016 including installation, Operational processes, Concepts of structured data storage and retrieval.
