This charity has worked with offenders and prisoners and their families in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas since 2000. The main focus of our work is resettlement and rehabilitation support including employability; accommodation; finance and debt; and children and families and over 2,500 clients access their services each year.

Their ‘Supporting People After Remand or Conviction’ (SPARC+) provision is a unique service that provides immediate support to people in the Lincoln Courts. In situations where a person in court is sentenced or remanded to custody at HMP Lincoln, SPARC offers continued support into the prison. The provision has developed significantly since it first commenced in 2013 and has received considerable interest at regional and national level for its innovative approach. The provision has been evaluated by the University of Lincoln.

SPARC+ Practitioners operate Monday to Friday and you will work alternate days at Lincoln District Magistrates Court and HMP Lincoln, with outreach to Lincoln Crown Court as needed. The ability to travel between locations, sometimes at short notice, is therefore vital. Working hours will need to be flexible to take account of short notice changes to prison / court operations but are likely to be 1030 to 1730 on court days and 1000 to 1830 on prison days.

The post is within Band B, which commences at £17,909 for individuals holding a relevant level 3 qualification. They also operate a trainee salary band for applicants who are new to this area of work which starts at £15,981 as well as a ‘Level 4 qualified’ band which starts at £20,500. The starting salary within a band is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.

In addition, the Trust offers a 6% employer pension contribution via their auto-enrolment scheme; a minimum of 33 days annual leave per year including statutory holidays, increasing by one day per full year of service to a maximum of 38 days (pro rata for part time posts); a salary sacrifice scheme for childcare vouchers; and a health and wellbeing service. The Trust is committed to ongoing professional development of all their staff and encourages individuals to participate in relevant training and development.

This post is initially funded for 12 months.

The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS and prison vetting.
