Role Description:
This role will suit an experienced development manager or an aspiring team leader. The role is a ‘hands on’ technical role and development (including coding) is expected to be at least 50% of the role. The role will therefore suit an applicant who wishes to remain competent technically and to keep their technical skills up to date whilst bringing management skills to the team.

Stakeholder liaison will also form a core part of the role and excellent communication skills both verbal and written are a key requirement. The applicant will need to be able to demonstrate experience in managing stakeholders at various levels both within and external to the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Director of Software Development
- Management of the Software Development Team on a daily basis
- Analyse business requirements, formulate, plan and oversee development projects
- Development of successful bespoke projects
- Development of scheduled product releases
- Manage task management & source control environments (Jira / Bitbucket)
- Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party business partners
- Liaise with Product Delivery Manager to ensure delivery of projects into the business
- Create regular development reports for the management team
- Attend support meetings to review helpdesk calls and resolutions that need to be scheduled
- Liaise with Account Managers and when required attend on-site review meetings with key customers
- Unit testing and QA of developed solutions.
- Carrying out code reviews
- Communicating as required with the business units and IT team
- Documenting solutions and tasks and creating user documentation
- Proactively Document business applications and processes where required
- Help to ensure a team culture is developed through positive and supportive teamwork.

To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A minimum 3 years in a technical lead position.
- A minimum 2 years leading or managing a team
- Experience in delegating tasks and managing outcomes
- A minimum 7 years’ development experience in a relevant organisation
- Experience with Win32 development including but not limited to C # .net, T-SQL
- Experience with front end WEB development languages (Jscript, Jquery, Bootstrap)
- In depth WEB Services development experience (SOAP, REST and JSON)
- Have experience in the successful delivery of bespoke software projects.
- Have experience of delivering software products with release schedules etc.
- Highly developed communication and relationship building skills that extend to all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an attention to detail, creative flair and highly developed planning and organizational skills
- Passionate about software development
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by a technology company
