This company is one of the UK’s leading pallet networks and they are recruiting a dedicated software developer to join their dynamic and motivated IT Team. Having established their position as technology leaders within the pallet network sector, their in-house IT department is responsible for every aspect of IT.

Development is based at Head Office in Leicester, while their operations centre is in Lichfield. They use a variety of technologies to support their network of 85+ hauliers across the UK. They also have corporate partners delivering consignments to 26 European countries.

The role

As part of the development team you would be responsible for maintaining & developing new & existing systems. Primarily we maintain existing .NET applications with a SQL Server backend, where new developments are focused around Javascript (ES6) (Node.js, Express, React, React Native).

A good understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript & SQL is required, and you will be expected to learn the necessary skills & frameworks as required with help from the rest of the team.

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

- Javascript Frameworks (React / Vue / Angular)
- Javascript Libraries (JQuery / Lodash / Axios / Moment)
- Javascript Build Tools (Webpack / Gulp / Babel)
- CSS Pre-Processors (Sass / LESS / Post CSS)
- Node.js (+ Express)
- Rest API Design
- iOS / Android Development (Native / React Native / Cordova)
- .NET (VB)
- Version control (Git / Github / Gitlab)
- Database Design / Administration (SQL Server)
- UI / UX Design

This vacancy is based at their Head Office in Leicester, with occasional travel to the Operations office in Lichfield required, plus the opportunity to work remotely.

The candidate

Although not essential, the ideal candidate should be HND/Degree educated (upper second-class honours or higher preferred) in a computer science discipline and/or possess previous software development experience

- Full UK driving license and own transport
