This Survey & Mapping company specialises in high precision Land & Topographical Surveys, Underground Surveys, Building Surveys and Geospatial Information System (GIS) Solutions across the UK and internationally.

They are seeking software and web application developers to join the company's IT and GIS solutions team. The role will be based in Lancaster or their Penrith office depending on the developers location.

They are looking for full stack developers to work on their web application mapping solutions. The role will involve client and/or server side development. The ideal candidate will have experience with JavaScript or Python, however candidates with experience of other languages/web frameworks (i.e. PHP, C#, ASP.NET) with an interest in learning these languages are also encouraged to apply.

Essential Skills
- Experience of web application development
- Experience with either Javascript or Python
- Interest in or desire to learn web mapping skills

Desirable
- Django and AngularJS frameworks
- HTML, CSS & SASS
- Knowledge of other web languages & frameworks (i.e. PHP, C#, ASP.NET)
- Linux system administration

The role-holder will work on projects involving web based spatial data and will utilise robust application frameworks and mapping libraries to build innovative web based GIS solutions as part of an agile development team.

This is an exciting opportunity in new product development and the successful candidate will work on rewarding projects which will require continuous skill development. This role would suit an individual with good programming skills, wishing to pursue a software development career working with geospatial solutions.

About the Company

The company develops a range of web applications for clients to manage and visualise their spatial data and physical assets. Typical uses for these systems include; high precision mapping, 3D model mapping and visualisation, asset management, spatial data analysis, and location based data visualisation. These solutions allow users to manage layers of geo-referenced data within a very accurate map produced from high-resolution aerial imagery and laser scans.
