Full time Fixed term for 1 year. The school is looking for someone who can start immediately.

This primary school requires a Site Manager to work full time 36 hours per week plus an additional 7 contracted hours/week making a total of 43 hours/week. The role will involve all aspects of site management including a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the fabric and grounds of the school.

The successful candidate will work alongside the School Business Manager, taking the lead on building maintenance, Health and Safety and site security.

General Responsibilities
- Ensure that the management and maintenance of the school buildings and environment are effectively undertaken
- Be responsible for the health & safety of the site
- Undertake repairs and DIY projects
- Create and maintain an effective premises team ensuring that the changing needs of the school are met through training and development of the premises staff
- Monitor the performance of the cleaning contractor and liaise with the area manager to ensure a clean, tidy and well-maintained school environment

Candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience of property maintenance and Health and Safety Compliance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong IT skills including the use of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of FMS would be an advantage
- The ability to work under pressure, using their initiative and managing conflicting priorities
- Evidence of working as part of a team
- The ability and experience to undertake DIY tasks
- A flexible, pro-active approach with a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all time

Qualifications and Experience
- Hold recognised training/qualifications associated with premises management
- Significant experience or skills in a trade
- The ability to understand and apply regulations such as health & safety, manual handling, COSHE, Legionella etc
- The ability to operate and understand electrical/mechanical systems
- Risk Assessment experience/qualification
- Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance
- To be able to use small industrial, electrical and mechanical equipment

The successful candidate must:
- Have previous experience
- Hold a Current DBS
- Be available for an immediate start
