Import / Export company located in Hornchurch, Essex buys and sells Essential Oils & Aromatic Chemicals used in the Flavour & Fragrance Industry. The company has been trading for nearly 50 years and is family owned and run. Supplying raw materials and finished goods to a broad range of customers worldwide, although our main focus is in the UK and Europe.

The company is looking for an experienced Shipping Clerk, located in Hornchurch, Essex.

The Role:

To work effectively and efficiently in both an office and warehouse environment to receive goods, schedule shipping in domestic and international markets and to work with warehouse, sales, accounts and other internal departments to ensure the very highest level of customer satisfaction.

Duties:

- To work as part of a team, processing incoming goods, tracking purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries and to move stock between off-site storage and warehouse / factory to meet customer commitments
- Coordinate shipping to clients in domestic and international markets by road, sea and air to ensure timely deliveries
- Use bespoke CRM software to generate warehouse picking tickets, packing lists, sales invoices and other relevant documentation for international shipments, including dangerous goods documentation
- Develop and share knowledge internally relating to shipping regulations and practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues with hauliers / clients that occur to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained
- To use courier software packages to effect shipments – Fedex / DHL / UPS World-Ship
- Maintain efficient delivery schedule to handle forward customer orders / contracts
- Maintain an organised filing system to ensure full traceability and access to historic documentation

Skills:

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- Full IATA Certified trained
- Polite and well spoken individual.
- Computer literate – good understanding of Email systems and Microsoft Office products
- Hazardous trained / DGN Software (DG Office software)
- Experience with international couriers – Fedex / DHL / UPS World-Ship
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, both internally and externally
- Knowledge of Duty / VAT Deferment
- Proven shipping knowledge, including documentation requirements - Bills of Lading, Insurance, Inco Terms, GSP, Letters of Credit, Chamber of Commerce etc.

Annual Salary & Benefits:

- £25K - Monday to Friday 0845 to 1700
