Their cloud based service helps over 10,000 healthcare facilities across the globe make their facilities safer for patients, staff and visitors. They’ve been leading the market in the UK for 3 years now and are looking to strengthen that position significantly, while developing new markets across Europe and the Middle East.

With a track record of numerous industry firsts, they have an ambitious technology roadmap to ensure they maintain their leading position. They are looking for exceptional people who either have Ruby on Rails experience or have PHP experience and would like to cross-train to Ruby on Rails (RoR).

The Senior Ruby on Rails Developer will be designing and developing products for their customers as well as new security tools and technologies. This individual will play a key role in each phase of the software development life-cycle and will work cross functionally with the company’s infrastructure, security and data warehouse teams.

The ideal candidate brings significant experience in developing and delivering commercial/enterprise software and working with a variety of Web E-Commerce applications. They are looking for individuals who are consummate students, dedicated to continual self-improvement.

Required experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ Ruby or PHP expertise
- Solid understanding of APIs, Messaging Software and Interoperability Techniques and Standards
- Track record in developing high quality and maintainable applications
- Using different development methodologies including Scrum and Agile, and TDD
- Disciplined approach to best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, QA)

In addition, experience in at least three of the following would be desirable but not essential:
- TDD and BDD techniques and technologies
- Large-scale web application development
- HTML5, CSS3, and Responsive Design using media queries
- Web application security
- SOAP or RESTful web services
- LAMP stack or J2EE environment
- SQL, including the use of aggregate functions and complex joins
- JavaScript, AJAX, and a major JavaScript library (jQuery, YUI, Prototype, Angular, etc.)
- Nginx or another web server configuration including SSL
- Microservices, SOA, ESB
- Single Page Applications
- UX and UI
