The clue is in the title - Innovation.

This is a newly created role for an experienced chemical/process engineer to oversee "state of the art" innovation projects within the UK minerals industry and working at a practical, technical, and strategic level for our leading UK Trade Association. The phrase "rare opportunity" is over-used all too often in Job Ads, but this post does give you the chance to personally help influence the future of an essential industry critical to the UK construction and manufacturing sector.

Initially and subject to funding, we see this as a 2 year Fixed Term Contract, hopefully extended by a further 2 years, and/or leading to further permanent development opportunities within the Association. Nominally based at our London HQ, there is the potential for the post to be remote based, subject to meetings attendance with colleagues, Members and other stakeholders in London.

In summary, you will be:

- Managing innovation projects to improve the environmental, safety and product aspects of mineral processes.
- Project managing to time and to budget, which will include financial tracking, production of technical summaries and dissemination of results.
- Working within a small team of highly motivated industry experts, providing technical support to the Director responsible, suggesting improvement opportunities, and liaising with external funders, suppliers and contractors.

In turn, you will have:

- A Chemical Engineering or related Degree or equivalent, and be an experienced chemical/process engineer, physicist, or scientist.
- We are open to backgrounds as long as we ave relevance, such as: an engineering consultancy practice, academia, or the oil and gas sector.
- Any knowledge in cement/lime/minerals process engineering is a distinct benefit.
- Project management expertise plus problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex matter in a simple way.
- High safety standards and a knowledge of Health and Safety management techniques (e.g Risk Assessments/HAZOP)
- Innovative and Strategic Thinking

Please apply today to be considered for this excellent and varied new opportunity.
