This company is the governing and regulatory body for horse racing in Great Britain. It is their role to act for and on behalf of the whole sport, ensuring that the highest standards apply on and away from the racecourse. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Medial Administrator to join their Medical Department.

The Senior Medical Administrator will provide a high level of support to the Chief Medical Adviser through day to day administration of the medical department. They will act as the initial point of contact for the Medical department; providing information and advice where appropriate to jockeys, agents, trainers, the Professional Jockey’s Association, Professional Riders Insurance Scheme, the Racecourse Association, medical practitioners and internal employees. Other responsibilities include responding to queries, policy and procedural issues and other ad hoc duties deemed appropriate. Any matters that cannot be resolved are escalated appropriately to the Chief Medical Adviser.

Ideally the candidate will have experience as a medical secretary and experience of working in a confidential and busy office environment. Candidates will possess strong administrative skills and the ability to oversee and co-ordinate effective processes and procedures to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department and the effective storage of information. They will also be responsible for overseeing the invoicing process for the medical department.

The successful candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, a proactive and flexible approach and plenty of initiative. They will need to be an enthusiastic and approachable individual who is able to work with minimal supervision but also be a team player. Other essential skills will be an ability to work to tight deadlines and to be a proficient user of MS Office packages, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook. Candidates will ideally have used and managed electronic databases previously, and experience of handling confidential data is desirable. Experience of working within a medical environment is desirable but not essential.
