This is an opportunity to join an innovative, highly experienced rolling stock engineering business that specialises in maintenance, overhaul and repair services to the UK rail industry. They also carry out passenger train refurbishment and offer practical, cost-effective turnkey design solutions on specialist infrastructure vehicles.
They have grown considerably from their depot in Kilmarnock over the last few years, and are now looking for a highly experienced Senior Engineer to lead, motivate, develop and ultimately strengthen the engineering team through their varied project assignments.
Ideally you would hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and / or have extensive experience in the rail or other heavy engineering industry, but more importantly is the ability to tender and scope projects from the design and development stages, through testing, identification, manufacture of components needed, writing engineering reports and technical documentation that translates effectively into work instructions and to managing the delivery of the engineering service their customers expect.
You should be results driven and have experience of coaching and developing an engineering team with mixed skills (Mechanical, Electrical, Product Design using CAD packages) and be effective at communicating and influencing at all levels and with other areas of the business, to ensure their projects are effectively understood and resourced to safely meet agreed time-scales and customers expectations.
