This company is a Global Engineering Consultancy; A unique business group made up of outstanding people. They currently have a vacancy in their Environment Partnership (based in Central London) for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant.

The role is to conduct professional flood management work for their client portfolio. This requires the application of mature flood management knowledge in planning and conducting projects having scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of the difficult and responsible assignments.

- Performs flood risk management duties requiring mature professional knowledge.
- Supervises and reviews the work of more junior flood consultants, scientists and technicians. Acts as a Mentor and Coach.
- Makes judgements and recommendations on technical matters within area of flood and coastal erosion risk management, using advanced techniques.
- Adheres to quality, safety and environmental procedures/standards.
- Liaises with clients, potential and current, for the purposes of service delivery, networking and business development.
- Acts as Project Manager on a range of projects, managing projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements.
- Supports business development activities included bid management and commercial tendering.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of relevant software, systems and processes.
- May contribute to, or be the author of, technical papers
- Maintains, or is working towards, Chartered Status.

Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant area of study.
- Minimum 8 years’ UK experience post-graduation in flood and coastal erosion risk management.
- Strong project management experience (PRINCE2 or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of UK flood risk management policy and practice for all sources of flooding (fluvial, tidal and surface water).
- Skilled in bid management and tendering & client relationship management.
- Knowledge of hydraulic modelling (e.g. TUFLOW/Flood Modeller/ICM) for flood hazard estimation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:
- Previous experience delivering projects on the Water and Environmental Management (WEM) Framework for the Environment Agency.
- Experience in delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Flood Risk Assessments (FRA) for urban development.
- Knowledge of Local Flood Risk Management, including Sustainable Urban Drainage.
- Knowledge in coastal flooding and erosion.
- Knowledge of Natural Flood Management/ Working with Natural Processes
- Qualification in hydrology.
