This company is a market leader in sub-contract laser profiling. They operate from six sites across the UK and are experiencing year on year profitable growth. They are currently recruiting for a senior buyer to look after key material and sub-contract purchases for the business.

The Purchasing function reports directly to the Managing Director. Key aspects of the Senior Buyer’s position are as follows:

- To ensure that robust systems are in place to make sure they buy the right products and services at the right time whilst achieving the best price and the best levels of service from suppliers.
- To interpret purchasing data, write reports and make suggestions on how they might make changes to the purchasing processes to make sure they get the best out of their suppliers.
- To help define department objectives and contribute towards the effective and efficient running of the organisation.
- To help them maintain their ISO 9001 accreditation, particularly ensuring that their Test Certification process relating to materials purchased is robust and reliable.
- To manage and negotiate with all their key suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring they operate to the quality standards that we expect.
- To help drive up the quality of their products and contribute towards continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications & Qualities Required:

- CIPS qualification an advantage
- Good negotiator
- Able to work at speed without compromising accuracy & detail
- Good mathematical skills.
