What About You?
You’re methodical and practical with a high level of attention to detail and a pro-active and flexible attitude. You’re considered a safe pair of hands, you like to get things right and achieve results. It’s likely that you’re already qualified to AAT Level 4 or the equivalent by experience.
You’re diligent – You know your debits and credits and can post journals for a variety of purposes. A 10+ page bank statement is just what you want to get your hands on. You’re comfortable learning and using new accounting packages.
You like the fact that there’s someone to ask for help, but you’re not afraid to work it out for yourself. You recognise that switching from one client’s books to another is a normal part of life, even when they’re incomplete, but you’ll keep it on your radar whilst moving on to something else.
You’re keen to develop your skills, love to be part of a team which recognises when you’ve done a good job and where your personality can shine through.
What will you be working on?
We’re going to give you the opportunity to work with a variety of accounting software packages (including internet based systems) in order to deliver monthly management accounts and the preparation for financial year end. You’ll be responsible for:
- Working on a portfolio of client accounts
- Bank & credit card reconciliations
- Processing monthly journals such as payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments and month end procedures and reports
- Preparation of VAT calculations and VAT returns
- Documenting, reviewing and checking your work and month end reports before sending out to clients
