This leading Chartered Accountancy Firm is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant.

The Senior Accountant reports to the PARTNER (DIRECTOR). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned such as companies’ accounts production, tax planning, tax returns, liaising with clients on a daily basis and practice management, all with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities/Duties:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information from clients, including from incomplete records
- produce complete TB, draft accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations
- Responsible for general ledger of all allocated clients
- Fixed asset processing and reporting of all allocated clients
- Maintain bank accounts – records on all allocated clients
- Review bank statements
- Research and reconcile all discrepancies on client’s data and from junior members of our team
- Auditing, verifying and storing safely all documents, provided by clients on our business systems
- Following internal controls.
- Completing data backups on a weekly basis
- Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis (monthly, weekly)
- Produce business plans when required using the company’s software tools
- Tax planning and R&D Tax Credits eligibility – assessment to all firm’s clients

Supervisory Duties:
- Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees, if and when needed
- Planning, assigning, and directing work in respect of VAT, PAYE, Accounts and Tax Return Production
- Coaching and appraising performance.
- Rewarding and disciplining employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have at least 3 years experience.
- Accountancy Qualification is a plus.
- Have a mixed workload of accounts and tax
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including over the phone)
- Strong Computer Skills, including 2-3 years experience on QuickBooks and Tax Calc
- Accuracy in daily work and other projects.
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other members of the team
- Ability to function as a team player.
