An established accounting firm in Rochdale is seeking a Semi-Senior / Senior Accountant to undertake a varied general practice role.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managers and Partners of the practice assisting them in maintaining a high standard of client relations and offering a comprehensive accountancy service.
Past practice experience is essential and candidates without it will not be considered.
Responsibilities and Duties include:
- VAT returns and book keeping preparation as needed.
- Preparation of accounts for a wide variety of clients, including Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships.
- Clearing queries with clients prior to review.
- Assisting with client queries throughout the year.
- Contacting clients requesting books and records, in order for work to commence and proficient in managing own workload.
- Assisting on management projects when required.
Qualifications and Skills needed:
- Experienced in the preparation of financial accounts and management accounts independently to final stage, ready for manager or partner review.
- Professional person with the ability to maintain and develop client and colleague relationships.
- At least 5 years relevant experience.
- Proficient use of IRIS, Sage, Xero and excel is an advantage.
- Up-to-date with accounting standards and applicable taxation matters.
- Ability to work using own initiative with little supervision, showing good organisational skills
- Good problem solver with attention to detail.
