This is an expanding start-up company based in the Edinburgh BioQuarter/Edinburgh University offering specialist preclinical contract research services to Pharmaceutical companies focussed on Immuno-Oncology, Immunology and specialised multiplex Histology.
Job Summary:
The main role will be to provide scientific administration support.
This will include receipt of deliveries, placing and tracking orders, team purchasing and maintenance of company spreadsheets. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with suppliers as required. Following receipt of compounds, appropriate COSHH documentation will be generated and filed.
The position will also include responsibility for general lab maintenance, cleaning of glassware, autoclaving of clinical waste, maintenance of incubators and maintenance of CO2 and LN2 supplies.
The tasks of the role are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to undertake other relevant administrative and scientific support duties as requested by management.
Key Tasks:
- Receipt and storage of company deliveries
- Ordering of company consumables, maintenance of the purchase ledger, chasing missing orders
- Liaising with suppliers, negotiating discounts
- Maintenance of company spreadsheets
- Generation of COSHH documentation
- General lab cleaning, routine maintenance of lab equipment, ordering of CO2 and LN2, as well as waste management.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Biology laboratory awareness & a life Science degree would be an advantage
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
