Transport/Sales Co-ordinator

This skip hire specialist is now seeking to employ a customer focused transport/sales co-ordinator to work in their busy operations office. Reporting directly to the operations manager the successful candidate will be required to answer calls and enquiries from customers, input information onto their IT systems, work with other colleagues to ensure service levels remain high and support the future of the business. The ability to multi task and previous experience in an office environment are essential. You will want to contribute to a team but also be able to get your head down and take ownership for your objectives

You will need to be a positive, enthusiastic and a proactive individual who is comfortable taking responsibility for seeing queries and solutions through until the end, managing telephone calls, databases and dealing with administration, as well as being organised and an effective communicator.

The role also involves the logistical co-ordination and planning of transport, so experience in similar environment would be desirable. Local geographical knowledge would be useful but not essential.

Daily duties will include
- Answering the phone and taking orders directly from customers
- Accurately inputting orders onto the software
- Assisting the accounts office in rectifying invoice queries
- Contacting customers regarding collections and exchanges
- Planning routes for drivers/vehicles

Skills/Experience
- Have a good confident telephone manner
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrate an ability to multi-task
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritise tasks
- Be punctual
- Be computer literate
- Can accurately and swiftly enter data onto a computer system
- Good track record of customer services or related activities within a high-speed environment
- Good negotiation skills
- Ability to work on his or her own initiative

Experience in a transport office would be preferred but is not essential so long as the required skills can be demonstrated.

Our transport office is based in Worminghall, HP189UN so a driving licence is essential.
