Reports to: Managing Director
Hours: Full Time, 40 hrs per week
Holiday: 28 days including public holidays
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 depending on experience plus bonus scheme
Probation: Six months

This company provides unique flooring solutions for new builds and renovations, supplying specialist products to architects, property developers and construction experts.

The products range from Adhesives, Primers and Underlays for Subfloor Preparation to Skirtings, Mouldings and Trims to add a finishing touch. It is a family business now run by the third generation, and has established itself as the No.1 supplier of flooring accessories and machinery in the UK, with their own brand ‘Marldon’, for Floor Primers, Lacquers and Tools.

Position overview

Based in the Preston office, supported by the management team, and reporting to the Managing Director, you will have overall responsibility for the sales growth of the company, and will oversee, refine and progress the current sales strategy, in line with the company’s objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years’ experience in a Sales Manager role.
- Background in flooring or construction essential.
- Proven track record in delivering strong business growth.

- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Create the Company’s sales strategy in line with the Company’s objectives.
- Work with all departments – operations, marketing and finance to ensure inter-department communication and success in achieving overall company objectives.
- Work with Marketing to ensure consistent lead generation.
- Train and ensure adherence to a pre-determined sales process in line with the sales strategy.
- Create and train prospecting process.
- Create and train lead qualification process.
- Hire high-performing salespeople according to HR staffing guidelines.
- Train new salespeople to ensure success.
- Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members, field, desk and reactive team members and deliver reviews.
- Generate ideas for sales contests and motivational initiatives.
- Lead and schedule weekly and monthly team meetings with sales team and leadership.
- Track sales team metrics and report data to leadership on a regular basis.
- Coach and develop direct reports in the field and on the desk.
- Implement performance plans according to company procedure.
- Embody company culture and maintain high sales employee engagement.
- Collaborate with IT on sales technology initiatives.
- Meet pre-determined revenue goals through the activities of direct reports.
- Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications.
