Position: Sales Executive
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: £25-£35k, plus company car, pension and bonus scheme

The Role:

They are now seeking an experienced Sales Executive to define and generate additional sales opportunities for the Engineering Steels Division.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Ensure that market trends as defined by likely customer, supplier and competitor activity, are fully understood so as inform the development of realistic and achievable sales plans.
- Develop robust sales plans, within the constraints of operational capacity, that seek to secure profitable new market share and gross margin growth through a combination of new business and new product sales through lowest cost to serve.
- Ensure sales plans reflect the need to minimise stock levels, work in progress and customer debtor days in order control unnecessary investment in working capital.
- Develop, publicise and apply a business commercial operating policy, informed as appropriate by the Group, within limits of authority on pricing, credit etc.
- Develop, publicise, apply and monitor customer service standards that seek to build customer retention levels.
- Personally lead negotiations with potential customers and through regular meetings, build relationships to maximise commercial opportunities with them.
- Ensure that effective systems of control and information exist, routinely monitor sales performance against plan in order to maximise profit potential and where necessary initiate action to bring that performance “back-on-track”.

- Promote the group and ensure maximum revenue generation through Cross business selling

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of Business Development, with a demonstrable track record of winning new business and maximising opportunities within an existing customer base.

Ideally, you will have knowledge of the steel industry, however candidates with an excellent track record from within other manufacturing business’ will be considered. More important is your appreciation of profit and loss accounts and margin negotiations.
