This company is a global company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory centrifuges and other lab equipment. They make sales either through direct contact with end user or through their network of carefully selected distributors both in the UK and abroad. Their key customers are hospitals, universities and industry such as pharmaceutical companies and water treatment plants. Over the past few years, this company has grown significantly, employing more staff as they have expanded, moving to larger premises in 2015.

The role:

The Sales Executive is in charge of maximising B2B sales of laboratory equipment, consumables and service contracts within the UK. The Sales Executive will be charged with the whole sales process, from initial discussions with the customer through to the close of business, concluding with a sale. This process will involve speaking to end users and distributors on the phone, in person and via email. The candidate will have to make initial contact with a potential customer, follow up warm leads, issue quotations and finally, aim to convert leads into a purchase order.

The role of the Sales Executive is primarily about winning new business, but there will also be some account management. The salary is £37,000 OTE.

The Sales Executive will primarily be office based at their site in Lower Sydenham, London. However, there will be a considerable amount of travel required to visit customer sites throughout the UK. There will also be occasions when travel is required outside the UK to attend international exhibitions. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to be happy with travelling as this will make up around 50% of the job.

Skills required:

- At least 2 years selling in a B2B sales environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident with face to face selling.
- Proven track record of generating and winning new business.
- Highly motivated to reach new heights and able to think outside the box.
- Confident in communicating and negotiating with customers both in person and over the telephone.
- Excellent knowledge of IT programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- An appreciation of technical products and confidence in selling them.
