As an established company for over 20 years, this company works with suppliers locally in the UK and around the world to supply locally grown and imported specialty fresh produce to Wholesalers, caterers, processors, packers and other commercial food businesses.
In this dual role, as a Sales and Purchasing Executive you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships whilst identifying and targeting new business opportunities. Your role will also include sourcing products worldwide, and continually expanding the product range.
Joining their team, you will focus on understanding customer needs and building long term relationships. You’ll do this by learning about their business, negotiating prices, and ensuring you deliver first class customer service.
Whilst the ideal candidate will have previous sales experience and a passion for fresh produce, what they are really keen to see is someone with some commercial experience, excellent communication skills and the desire to develop their career.

Skills required:
- Must be an excellent telephone and face-to-face communicator
- Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts, achieving genuine sales development
- Knowledge of Fresh produce would be beneficial.

- Self-driven, resourceful and results-oriented with a positive outlook,
- A clear focus on high quality and business profit.
- Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel if and when required visiting customers, suppliers within the UK and trade shows worldwide. Have a full clean driving license.
- Must be skilled in using MS office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet and email.
- Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.
- Literacy and Numeracy:
- Must be competent English writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.
- Able to complete quick mental mathematical calculations and a basic understand of profit and loss, gross margin percentages and calculations.
- Other languages may be a bonus.
Salary 22k - 55k DOE and role applying for, plus bonus, Pension
