This company is looking for a great Ruby on Rails Developer to join their growing team in Stockport, Manchester.

They are the world leader in helping hospitals enforce and manage their security and safety procedures. Their cloud based service helps over 10,000 hospitals across the globe make their environments safer for patients, staff and visitors – improving patient outcomes and lowering costs.

The US market leaders for ten years, they have assumed the same position in the UK over the last four years and are now looking to strengthen that position, while developing new markets across Europe and the Middle East.

They have a proud track record of numerous industry firsts and have an ambitious technology road-map to ensure we maintain their leading position. So we're increasing the size of our software engineering team.

You’ll be designing and developing products for our customers as well as new security tools and technologies to enhance the value we can offer to our customers. You’ll play a key role within each phase of the software development life-cycle and contribute at every stage of the product development cycle, working cross functionally with the company’s infrastructure, security and data warehouse teams - as well as the other development teams. All in a supportive, trusting and open work environment.

What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ Ruby expertise
- Passion for solving a problem that potentially affects us all
- Solid understanding of APIs, Messaging Software and Interoperability Techniques and Standards
- Proven track record in developing high quality and maintainable applications
- Experience with gathering and documenting technical requirements and specifications
- Experience using different development methodologies including Scrum and Agile, and test-driven development
- Disciplined approach to best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, quality assurance)

In addition, experience in three of the following would be desirable but not essential:

- Large-scale web application development
- HTML5, CSS3, and Responsive Design using media queries
- Web application security
- SQL, including the use of aggregate functions and complex joins
- Microservices, SOA, ESB
- UX and UI
