This company is looking to recruit a full time Retail Manager for a busy Peter Rabbit and Friends shop in Bowness on Windermere. Salary dependent upon experience.

The family owned company operates two popular heritage visitor attractions, five holiday parks, a number of retail and catering outlets and a portfolio of residential lettings and self-catering holiday properties, all within the Lake District National Park.

Responsibilities
To grow sales on a year-by-year basis through inspirational stock selection and well managed replenishment (EPOS aided). To motivate and lead a team of proactive sales assistants with a genuine interest in the product and customers from across the world.

Principle Accountabilities
- To manage and motivate all team members
- To appraise existing staff on a yearly basis and to recruit additional staff as required.
- To lead on the generation of sales with the aim of meeting and exceeding targets.
- To have excellent product knowledge and impart this knowledge to the retail team.
- To offer a creative lead in the visual merchandising of the shop appropriate to the sales level. To ensure zone a selling space is dedicated to best-selling products. To ensure window displays drive customers into the shop.
- To ensure that in this high turnover, high volume shop that the shelves are always well stocked, with adequate reserves available from the stockroom. To plan forward orders with key suppliers avoiding out of stock problems with companies.
- To make maximum usage of the EPOS system avoiding either overstocking or understocking and controlling overall stock-levels.
- To use margin when buying as a way of generating above average profit on non-core lines
- To be responsible for all monetary transactions including day to day reconciliations.
- To deliver on time all the necessary documentation for the effective running of the business.
- To work well with other managers, have input at trade shows, attend training seminars for the wellbeing of the business.
- At all times to work in a safe manner, raising any health and safety concerns immediately with your line manager. Also to be aware at all times of the health and safety of our customers and any other persons on site
- To undertake any other tasks required from time to time which may contribute towards the successful operation of the Company

Reporting Responsibilities
The Retail Manager will report to the Group Retail Manager.

General
The Retail Manager will demonstrate an enthusiastic, proactive and problem solving approach to the job and an ability to work under their own initiative. The Retail Manager must be available to work Bank Holidays and one or both weekend days as required.
