They now have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and customer focused Receptionist to join the UK’s market leading tour operator of escorted holidays by rail. The successful candidate will work in a growing and highly customer centric business in the heart of York’s city centre.

As the first point of contact for the company, you will welcome customers and suppliers who visit the business in a polite and professional manner. You will also coordinate front desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls to the highest quality standards.

To be successful as our Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is a customer facing role. Multitasking and organizational skills are essential for this position.

Some of the activities that the Receptionist will be responsible for include:

- Greet all visitors to Great Rail Journeys and ensure they are welcomed and directed appropriately
- Answer and distribute incoming calls
- Provide accurate information in-person and via phone/email
- The timely and accuracy data inputting
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Maintain the presentation of the Reception area, along with necessary stationery
- Follow safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
- Process all brochure requests
- Provide support to other teams where required
- Assist in the development and enhancement of company practices and processes

The successful receptionist should possess the following skills and experience:

- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, along with a friendly disposition
- Able to demonstrate an engaging and enthusiastic interest in travel and in particular the key unique selling points of our products and services
- Excellent IT skills, including keyboard skills and Microsoft packages Windows / Office / Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a clear, professional and polite manner are vital
- Good time management skills, with the proven ability to prioritise and be organised
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- This position may be required to complete additional duties to meet the needs of the business

Proven work experience as a Receptionist or similar role is preferred but not essential

The role will require working to a rota, therefore flexibility is key
