1. Overall responsibility to test and check raw materials at intake as per a schedule whilst dealing with any internal material queries and carry out testing for raw material comparisons to ensure that they are receiving materials and despatching finished goods which conform to specification.

2. Issuing declarations and Certificates to customers confirming they conform to specification or regulation. As part of this it will be your responsibility to ensure they have received certificates and declarations from their suppliers.

3. You will be responsible for sending raw materials to testing houses for specific independent tests. e.g. FR (Fire Retardant / Resistant) Testing.

4. Other Tasks Required as part of the Quality Team: -
- Investigating customer complaints and implement appropriate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Issue non-conformances where required both internally and externally, MUST be able to support with root cause analysis for the improvements required to avoid or reduce non-conforming products
- Dealing with any quarantines in a timely manner
- Walking the factory to carry out spot checks for any quality issues especially regarding first offs and offer advise where necessary, working in partnership with the Operations Teams.
- Ensure any re-works are carried out in a timely manner.
- Deal with any goods returned through to the end.
- Issue concessions where required ensuring all information has been collated and justified.
- Familiarisation with the work instruction system, feeding back any improvements and suggestions to the Technical or Quality Department

5. Health and Safety:
- Implement the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within your area of responsibility such as manual handling, use of PPE, safe use of machinery and equipment, stacking & storage and all relevant safety requirements
- Ensure that a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained on a ‘clean as you go
basis’
- Represent the department on the Health & Safety Committee as required.

Attainments
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- NVQ or equivalent appropriate to Quality or equivalent

Experience
- Experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Fabric Knowledge.

Personal Skills
- Good level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and take a pro-active approach to work
- Ability to implement and ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures and processes.
- High level of honesty and integrity
- Team player IT literacy – being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and , Excel.
