Quality Technician

This company based in Birmingham offers a range of engine cooling systems, heating and air conditioning systems and fluid reservoirs. They are the market leader for engine cooling and HVAC systems for the bus and coach market, supplying product globally. From a simple radiator design through to a complete cooling module with radiator/ charge air cooler and the option of viscous, hydraulic and electric fan drives, they can provide the complete 3D design, prototype test and production supply.

This new appointment will assist the Quality Department and the management team to actively drive and improve quality, environmental and Health & Safety processes and aspire to the highest possible standards within the company, working within a framework of legality, and will proactively promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the business. This will drive engineering excellence and a customer-focussed approach.

Accountabilities
- Determining standards of excellence, ensuring adherence to business policies, codes of practice and procedures in order to achieve zero defects and complete compliance.
- Achieving continuous improvement in quality, environmental and Health & Safety standards through the implementation of innovative measures
- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of environmental issues and law and ensuring the business operates within the required ethical and legal framework
- Take on a number of day to day management responsibilities

Qualifications, experience and personal skills
- A graduate calibre individual (ideally mechanical/ automotive/ manufacturing/ electrical engineer) and knowledge of Quality Inspections and principles
- Able to work with minimal supervision, read and understand basic drawing prints, be mechanically and electrically minded
- Conversant with all aspects of QS9000 (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, etc.), ISO9001, TS16949 and ISO14001
- Ability to interpret statistical data (SPC, Capability studies) and use of relevant tools
- Ability to challenge the status Quo with factual evidence
- Familiar with engineering/ manufacturing working practices
- Full Clean Driving Licence essential

Working Hours: 8:00 to 17:00 – Monday to Thursday// 8:00 to 15:00 – Friday. Some flexibility will be required.

Work Location: Tyseley, Birmingham. Must be prepared for UK, Europe and U.S. travel if required.
