This company is a manufacturer of precision automotive components, with a purpose built factory close to the M1 on the outskirts of Barnsley.
They are currently seeking a Quality Manager to be responsible for maintaining compliance to ISO9001 / IATF 16949 across the company's manufacturing site as well as driving a 'right first time' cultural within the business. In addition you will be responsible for ensuring that all products are fit for purpose and consistent with both internal and external requirements.
To be successful in this position you are required to possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience of maintaining quality requirements and implementing process improvements to meet IAFT 16949 or similar standard
- Minimum 5 years of previous experience in a quality management position within an automotive or similar precision industry
- Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a technical discipline
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To ensure that products supplied to the customer meet specification.
- To ensure that the company’s quality management system (QMS) complies with the requirements of the ISO standard and customer specific requirements and is effective in achieving the target performance levels.
- Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in quality performance.
- First line contact with customers and sales offices on all quality matters including on time reporting to customers in the event of any deviations in quality performance.
- Manage the staff employed directly and indirectly in the pursuit of achieving the quality performance targets.
- Work with support departments across their global entities to support the achievement of internal and external performance targets.
