Responsible for upkeep and implementation of the quality, health and safety, environmental and sustainability procedures and systems for the company. 
Ensure that the business operates at the highest possible level in respect of quality, health and safety, environmental and sustainability.

Key objectives of the role are: constant promotion and achievement of safe working practices, ‘zero accidents’ culture and high environmental performance; embedding and updating fit-for-purpose quality systems, procedures and practices in the business.

Knowledge & Experience:

- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements of site engineering, workshop maintenance and assembly involving mechanical & some electrical works.
- Having know-how to set up and manage Health & Safety meetings for their sites.
- Strong practical understanding of relevant UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and good practice related to site works (including HAZOP, HACCP, RAMS, COSHH etc.)
- Familiarity in operating/implementing fit-for-purpose and compliant ISO9001/ ISO 14001/ ISO18001 systems.
- Practical skills in managing and handling internal, third party (sub-contractor) and external audits
- Demonstrable skills in managing relationships and responding to external authorities (HSE, EA, QMS auditors, local authorities, clients etc.)
Competent in managing audit corrective actions, accident investigations and changing procedures.
Demonstrable skills in producing systems, processes, handover documents and manuals.
- Competent at producing Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Awareness of office premises and worker related health & safety regulations/ good practice. 
Demonstrable ability in providing/ facilitating training and development of HSQE subject-matter.

- Relevant qualifications, licences & ‘tickets’ that are desirable to fulfil duties & accountabilities:
o NEBOSH (or equivalent)
o Internal Quality Auditor ISO 9001/ 14001/ OHSAS18001
o Full valid UK driving licence (or equivalent) and willing to travel to GB sites

- MsOffice proficient (Word, Excel, Project), numerate & able to write reports.
- Preferably have knowledge of a process-related industry, its equipment and processes and likely risks e.g. general engineering, site related pump maintenance and repair.

Typical Duties: Projects/ Sites:
- Conduct regular visits to sites around the UK: carry out solo and joint inspections with project/site managers, advise, review and ensuring safe systems of work and ongoing practice
Management systems:
- Monitor, upkeep and update the HSQE management systems ensuring that they are maintained, ‘fit for purpose’ and legally compliant
Reporting:
- Prepare quarterly status reports. Also respond to ad hoc enquiries from the management team/ authorities.
