Quality Engineer

This company is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to develop and maintain the QMS to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The main focus of the role is to co-ordinate and follow up with the quality activities of the QMS, and to record and drive the resolution of any quality concerns raised internally or externally. The role will provide the total quality liaison function.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Record and oversee the resolution of all quality concerns found within the company;
- Receive and monitor supplier and customer concerns;
- First point of contact for communication between the customer and the company;
- Collate data and report back day to day concerns between the customer and the company;
- Create, issue, co-ordinate and track the 8D corrective action process;
- Assist in ensuring the Quality function actively participates and supports in Production and Front End processing;
- Report immediately any major concerns and roadblocks to the Management Team;
- Co-ordinate and control rework activities;
- Check manpower requirements for any corrective action projects;
- Deliver training and education to all staff on acceptability standards, health and safety, and product preservation standards;
- Ensure strict adherence to the ISO 9001:2015 QMS standard
- Carry out internal audits on all processes to ISO 9001:2015 and act as the responsible party for the external audits
- Identify and propose process improvements
- Monitor and report on the top-level business KPI’s – OTIF and RFT

Position Requirements (mandatory):
- Minimum of Grade C GCSE or equivalent Maths and English
- Broad and varied years of experience, working within a Quality function
- Working knowledge of LEAN, 8D, SPC, Process Capability measures (Cpk, Ppk), Ishikawa, Poke-Yoke, Kaizen and Six Sigma processes
- Certified to conduct ISO 9001 internal audits
- Experienced in the electronics assembly industry
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with conflict
- Results-focused, and ability to take ownership and initiative to manage projects
- Previous experience of dealing with complex assemblies and processes
- Fluent in English and ability to deliver presentations
- Full driving licence and car would be an advantage
- Right to work in the UK

Desirable Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality discipline
- Green Belt Six Sigma with experience of several projects
- Good understanding of IATF/TS 16949
- Certified Trainer or Specialist in IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD001, IPC 7711/7721

Salary & Package:
- Salary Range £26,000 – £32,000 p.a. subject to experience level.
