This is an opportunity to join an award winning UK textile innovator, independently owned, specialising in the design & manufacture of contract upholstery fabrics for commercial interiors and mass passenger transport.

The company is based in West Yorkshire's textile heartland, with additional manufacturing in Lithuania and Nottingham, where it extends global reach into some 80 countries worldwide via established offices, warehousing and distribution channels in Europe, North America, China and Australia.

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure that all products meet established quality standards and specifications, carrying out root cause analysis on non-conforming products and implementing continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

- Communicate quality issues to both internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support to drive performance improvement.
- Work with cross functional project teams to investigate the root cause of non- conformance's, identify and ensure implementation of corrective and preventative actions to continuously improve quality.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions, and take action as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust quality assurance procedure for all fabrics and raw materials.
- Support the improvement of their quality performance to reduce the cost of poor quality (COPQ)
- Complete quality audits on their supply base, making suggestions where process improvements can be made.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the company Technical Governance Strategy in relation to non-conformance's and quality assurance.
- Provide technical support to the Customer Technical Support team, ensure timely responses are provided to customers on quality related customer complaints.
- Carry out and co-ordinate fabric testing and inspections as and when required.

Education / Skills / Knowledge / Experience

- Minimum of Degree level in Textile Technology, Engineering and / or Chemicals.
- Extensive knowledge of production techniques and testing standards within the yarn / fabric manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Additional requirements
- Full driving licence as some driving will be required in this role.
