This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing firm of Accountants based near Basingstoke, Hampshire and Egham, Surrey.

They provide a full spectrum of client-centric accountancy services (except for Audit), provided both via traditional and cloud-solutions (including Xero), enabling client’s to get the information they need, whenever and wherever they are.

This means they aren't just able to meet their needs now; they aim to be there to invest themselves in their business, and be there as it grows and matures.

Role

A new opportunity has arisen for a full time or part-time qualified Accountant(s) (including qualified by time/ experience) to join their practice. At least five years small firm accountancy practice experience is essential.

The individual should be proactive and manage their own work load, but also be a team player who is keen to help others, so line management experience would be preferred.

An ability to own relationships with clients (current and potential) would be very useful. Xero experience useful, Sage, Iris and VT experience helpful.

Details include:
- Permanent (full-time or two part-time);
- £30k-£45k (pro-rated) depending on experience and hours of work; and
- Office based, near Basingstoke, but also potentially working at client’s premises and other office.

Main duties include, but may not be limited to:
- Accounts preparation for Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLPs and Limited companies (private and CICs);
- Preparation of self-assessment and corporation tax liabilities, to ensure they pay the right amount of tax, on time, with further tax experience advantageous;
- Owning client meetings to review Accounts and Tax returns (ensure they understand the numbers, discuss performance and future plans), provide business and potentially tax advice depending on the client need;
- Preparing and presenting Management Accounts to clients, ensuring they understand, discuss the performance and future plans;
- Working with clients to ensure they provide information on a timely basis, maintain complete and accurate records and are aware of their other statutory responsibilities;
- Reviewing work prepared by all levels of staff and potentially managing the office in the absence of senior management;
- Proactively identifying gaps or risks in any key processes and proposing solutions to rectify, using benefit of previous (Practice) experience; and
- Back-up for other team tasks, potentially including preparation and submission of Annual, CIS and VAT returns, Quarterly Management Accounts and Payroll.

It’s a great opportunity in two lovely offices, to not only further develop your accountancy skills, but potentially also for the right candidate to take on more responsibility too, if they wanted to, for example group responsibilities or line management with emphasis on the development of people internally.
