Location: UK: Norfolk – Hull – Malton, Northern Ireland: Ballymena

Business: This role is for a global Company providing meat and meat by-products for the human food chain, pet food, pharmaceutical and casings industries.

Their HQ is located in The Netherlands, with production facilities, cold stores and offices around the world. The Company’s UK operations are based in Norfolk (East Anglia), Hull (East Yorkshire) and Malton (North Yorkshire). There is also an operation in Ballymena (Northern Ireland) which will be covered by the remit of this role.

The Position
They are looking to recruit a QSHE professional, preferably with previous experience within the food manufacturing industry.

The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel between sites for proper performance of their duties.

The role and responsibilities of the QSHE Manager will consist of, but will not be limited to;
- Manage and conduct internal audits in accordance with the schedule, communicating any non-conformances as required and ensuring root cause and corrective actions are completed and verified.
- Lead and manage all announced and unannounced external audits.
- Monitor, report and investigate any complaints or quality issues.
- Adopt position as key contact for food safety, site standards and technical queries and ensuring conformance with critical safety parameters.
- Develop the site technical strategy, to show continuous improvement and added value.
- Develop and maintain the relevant Quality and HACCP Manuals, specifications and control documents.
- Be mindful of product quality, integrity and traceability, ensuring high standards are maintained.
- Ensure technical and safety KPI’s are completed and communicated.
- Management of environmental compliance and standards.
- Development of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including the ongoing development of Health and Safety management systems.
- Liaising with relevant authorises and ensuring all relevant documentation and re-training is completed in respect of safety, environment and quality.
- Develop, maintain and coordinate monthly reports on technical, quality and safety matters.

The Person
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant subject.
- Experience of working within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Full driving license
- IOSH/NEEBOSH National General Certificate holder, or equivalent
- IEMA qualification or similar is desirable but not essential.
- Strong IT skills, with confidence in Microsoft packages; specifically, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, as required.

Salary: circa £35,000 - 40,000 per annum, plus car allowance and benefits
