As a Pump Technician / Storeperson, you will work as part of the Aberdeen team, commissioning, servicing and repairing pump equipment, but also to provide general warehouse duties within the facility.

Based at their premises at Dyce or occasionally working on customers’ sites, the successful applicant will be honest, hardworking and have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Experience in service and repair of industrial pumps is desirable. They offer excellent rates of pay, company pension contributions and the use of a van to commute to / from work.

The right applicant must have a good general engineering background and would preferably have worked previously in a mechanical fabrication / repair environment.
Key Responsibilities are as follows:-

Technical Function
- Disassembly and accurate re-assembly of industrial pump equipment
- Assessing need for spare parts
- Testing of mechanical pump equipment
- On-site servicing or commissioning of pump equipment
- Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, work safely, and comply with current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation at all times

Stores Duties
- Accepting / unloading deliveries using forklift truck when necessary
- Checking them against the delivery notes ensuring all paperwork is correct
- Ensure the products are stored safely and in an organised manner and are clearly identified at all times
- Preparing orders for dispatch
- Keeping a log of all going in and out
- Maintain the required standards of housekeeping
- Carry out stock checks as requested in an accurate and timely manner

Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for the role, it would be an advantage to have a solid grounding in a large number of the following skill sets:-
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent in a Rotational discipline with the ability to demonstrate on the job experience
- A good working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Pumps, Gearboxes and Motor technology.
- Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and machines
- Computer literate, fully conversant with MS Office
- Welding and pipe fitting skills preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines accurately with minimal supervision
- The applicant must hold a valid UK driving license, have the right to work in the UK and be fluent speaking the English language.
