They are committed to tackling inactivity improving health. Beat the Street is their award-winning walking and cycling programme which energises a whole community. Over 300,000 participants played Beat the Street in 2016 across the UK and Europe and the programme is expanding as more policy makers understand the importance of preventative health.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage their award-winning programme including managing client relationships. They are looking for a someone with experience in delivering high quality, engaging and effective community-based projects. This person will help drive the programme, sharing best practice and supporting local staff.

Job outline
You will be responsible for leading the local teams who will deliver day-to-day engagement with participants. You will actively manage key stakeholders and clients ensuring contracts are met and key outcomes delivered. You will understand community engagement and help support the effective delivery working together with the central team. You will be able to bring together best practice and will be always keen to improve delivery and the experience for participants. You will be passionate about improving health and making a difference.

This role would involve working closely with, and under the line management of the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities:
- Support consistent and effective delivery of key objectives and outcomes of Beat the Street programmes
- Recruit and manage a Local Engagement Team to deliver their individual projects and objectives
- Provide guidance and support to Local Engagement Team including sharing of best practice.
- Plan and oversee community engagement within each programme including the creation and chairing of steering groups
- Point of contact for clients across all programmes and oversee management of client relationships

The role will be office based in the Head Office in Reading with travel across the programmes expected

Experience:
- Project management
- Delivering successful community outreach programmes
- Line Management
- Stakeholder/client management
- Health/community engagement experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
- Work within knowledge of health and voluntary sector
- Microsoft proficient
- Enthusiasm and commitment to the ongoing development of Beat the Street and the local Engagement teams
- Ability to drive and access to own car
- Ability to travel for face to face meetings with clients and Engagement Team
