A small to medium sized plant, formed as part of a large global organization is recruiting for a forward thinking Production Supervisor, experienced within the manufacturing industry. You will report to a Production Superintendent & you will supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. The production supervisor will act as a key change agent and main conduit between management and the front-line.

This role is responsible for the smooth running of the plant, monitoring operators and processes and taking appropriate action as required to ensure safe operation is maintained and production requirements are met.

Essential Functions
- Assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of staff for assigned work unit. Accountable for the Plant ensuring it is being operated safely and to environmental standards including quality and production performance directing staff operators, visitors and contractors to do the same.
- Implementing production plans according to approved schedule.
- Inspecting and evaluating work in progress, identifying any problem areas, and may direct remedial action. Monitoring the quality of the work being performed by the assigned staff.
- Conducting performance evaluations on subordinate staff. Coaching staff providing positive and negative feedback and ensuring corrective action. Managing disciplinary hearings and formal/informal discussions with staff regarding poor attendance, performance, capabilities, etc.
- Training staff in safety procedures. Planning training and evaluating training needs of staff ensuring cross training. Planning and communicating trainings including but not limited to toolbox talks, HR policies, safety meetings, training sessions, etc.

Position Requirements

Essential

- Right to live and work in UK
- Combination of educational standards & experience:
o NVQ Level 3 or educated to A level standard or higher, and five years of related operational experience, including a minimum of 2 years supervisory or lead experience, OR
o Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and two years of industrial supervisory or lead experience.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing with respect to job assignments, job procedures , and applicable safety standards.
- Basic computer skills required in office word processing, email, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
- Demonstrated examples of solid leadership and s ound decision making.
- Knowledge and awareness of basic H&S and Environmental practices.
- Good man management ability with experience of leading small teams
- Confident and strong to deal with all levels of people in a manufacturing environment

- Ability to devise content and construct short training sessions
