About the role:
A fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing window blind manufacturer as their production manager. Managing a team of 10, you will take ownership of all things related to the window blind production and will be expected to help deliver excellent results from an already excellent team.

The role will include but not be limited to:
Producing the production plan. Ensure you have the stock required to make the blinds on order, schedule the jobs ensuring you have enough resources available and then communicate the plan to your team.

Deliver the production plan. Effectively manage the production resources: People, raw materials and machines to ensure the production plan is met.

Manage the production team. Take responsibility for recruitment, training and performance management of all production staff including conducting 6 monthly performance reviews with each team member and taking responsibility for disciplinary and dismissal procedures where required.

Building a continuous improvement culture. Ensure that continuous improvement becomes something all employees believe in and strive towards through facilitation and effective management. You will also lead IT improvements to aid production and stay up to date with industry trends and production methods.

Responsible for machinery and equipment maintenance. Create and implement weekly check sheets for machine maintenance checks along with record keeping sheets for all equipment. Manage proactive machine and equipment maintenance to ensure minimal downtime. you will also resolve machinery issues if and when they do arise.

Responsible for all aspects of production health and safety. You will keep all relevant risk assessments up to date and full legal compliance. You will train staff to current operating procedures and ensure that these standards are met so that everyone works in a safe manner.

Required Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience managing a production environment.
- IOSH working safely certificate.
- Experience with lean production and six sigma.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Excellent organisational skills.

About the individual:
You will have managed a team within a production environment for at least 3 years including the day to day running of an operation, performance management of a team of people and you will be both technologically savvy and have a good understanding of lean production principles.

Your outlook will be firm but fair when managing the team and you must be cheerful and enthusiastic.
