This is an opportunity for a Product Support Manager to join a manufacturer of robust, highly efficient gas turbines

Preferred Lappeenranta, Finland, but the candidate may be located in the UK or other European country with convenient communications. You can be based anywhere in the UK. Must be prepared and able to travel frequently and internationally.

Responsibilities and tasks

- The face of the Company to the end user.
- Responsible for achieving high availability and performance of sold Systems.
- Responsible for developing the support network to achieve rapid fault diagnosis and response.
- Develop a plan with costs to execute of their Product Support Strategy.
- Develop or procure performance analysis tools for speed of product evaluation in outputs.
- Liaise effectively with other departments to ensure the efficient response to sales enquiries or the referral to appropriate authorised sales channels.
- Coordinate with Sales to assist in the management and monitoring of current opportunities and channels.
- Lead in training new and existing channels in the application, installation and operation of their systems.
- Provide practical support to channels and end users in the commissioning and operation of their systems including support of project management where necessary.
- Undertake balance of plant product selection, performance and cost estimation.
- Support the sales team in introductory presentations, application evaluations, quotation preparation, proposal presentations, negotiations and securing orders.
- Lead the commissioning and operation and maintenance of their systems with end users or contractors.

Qualifications

- Engineering degree or appropriate technical qualification
- Extensive field service background with exposure to shipping, installation and commissioning of distributed power generation equipment.
- Experience in monitoring fielded products in wide and remote locations.
- Gathering data for reporting fleet operations against target metrics relating to efficiency, availability, meantime between failures and meantime to repair.
- Experience in budget management and warranty administration including logistics.
- Experience in use and management of distribution networks.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and/or Finnish.
- A clean driving licence.
- Willing and able to work remotely from colleagues but responsible in reporting and communicating regularly.

To be successful in this role you would have a clear understanding of the implementation and operation of power generation equipment. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial (preferably power generation) product service and support.

Planning service strategies and structuring campaigns for products support. Management of distributor relationships to achieve high levels of product availability. Good knowledge of industrial environments, including regulations and standards commonly used to manage fast track product replacement/repair.
