About the Role

Developers are responsible for building, maintaining and supporting new and existing web applications.

You will work closely with delivery managers and teams to decide what to build, and with front-end developers and designers to design and deliver beautiful and usable solutions.

You will work at all stages of a project, from technical input into discovery work, development of alpha products to test and learn from, through to production ready code that is ready to scale to support live products and services.

Essential Experience
- use at least one general purpose programming language.
- build database backed web applications.
- develop web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- are familiar with object oriented programming.
- are familiar with responsive web design and iOS/Android development.
- understand front-end development, working in HTML, CSS and JavaScript if required.
- use test-driven and/or behaviour-driven development practices.
- work with version control systems, preferably Git.
- have at least a working knowledge of Unix based operating systems like Linux and/or OSX.
- communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- work at pace using agile methods in technical and complex environments.
- confidently communicate their work to others.
