The company was established in 1983 as a retail business providing copying, printing and stationery services to the retail and corporate market.

Role:

Responsible for on-going management, execution and communication of effective purchasing plans to facilitate successful fulfilment of demand/customer orders in a cost-efficient manner.

This role sits within the Supply Chain department which is responsible for effective management of end-to-end supply pipeline to ensure on-time delivery to customers and efficient control of working capital, with emphasis on 4 key result areas: fulfilment of customer orders; effective supply planning; management of the in-bound supply pipeline; and robust management of inventory.

Responsibilities:

- Analyse business data, oversee & administer contracting & procurement strategies & programs ensuring accurate, usable information for business decision-makers to increase operational efficiency & profitability
- Develop procurement plans cognizant of forecast requirements, cost parameters & business interests by applying strategies for risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operations improvement
- Develop standardized systems & controls for procurement including RFP documentation, work authorization, purchase & change order systems, & supplier/contractor eligibility criteria
- Proactively identify, communicate and follow up on significant trends and demand changes to achieve optimum inventory and pricing
- Provide tactical and strategic direction for future development of the supply chain. Making key sourcing & resourcing decisions
- Select, introduce and develop the suppliers
- Identify risk within the supply chain
- Provide monthly purchase forecast to suppliers and prepare reports
- Lead negotiations with suppliers creating partnerships with suppliers
- Identify and deliver cost down initiatives, period on period
- Provide costs & view opportunities and alternatives providing long term lowest cost solution.
- Improve efficiency & effectiveness
- Administer on-line purchasing systems.
- Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers
- Regularly check for slow moving and obsolete goods
- Improve forecasting & demand planning software & processes
- Take immediate action to ensure product availability
